This small poetry speaks of a lesson I learnt from my husband. So once again, I dedicate this piece to that resilient, patient soul.
When people are running from the monsters,
that dwell inside them, DON’T race with them.
Be a spectator, BET on your person,
enjoy and wait at the finish line to hug the winner.
Mostly, it’s the people who win.
Especially, when you bet on them.
DON’T give up on them.
Because when they win, YOU win,
and lose too.
What you BOTH lose, are the monsters
that used to dwell inside both of you.
